Hi Folks,
Apologies if this topic has been raised before, but I did a forum search and couldn`t find it. Anyway, Nick & I got our letters about SCR`s today, from the PCT., and a leaflet with a bit of info to read as well.Coincidentally, I read earlier this week in the Press how this system could be open to abuse.
In principle, I can see the logic of having a database so that if a person is taken ill somewhere other than their locality, how it could be useful - and quick - to be able to access useful info in an emergency. So far so good. What does bother me slightly is who else other than medical practitioners can have access? For instance, at present, anyone such as DWP has to ask my GP for info to help with any claim I might make - indeed they have done so, and I don`t have a problem with that. But is it possible that an official, or an assessor might just be referred to this SCR in the future? Or am I being paranoid? It`s just that we seem to live more and more in a state where Big Brother is watching us, our dustbins, our consumer habits etc. etc.
Just wondered.......................
